Your documents
When you select a file in a QPDF tool, it is read and processed by software running in your browser. QPDF does not upload, receive, store or have access to your documents, their file names, or information extracted from them. The processed result is saved directly to your device. Information stored in your browser
QPDF uses your browser’s local storage features for functionality only:
- your list of favourite tools and interface preferences (localStorage);
- copies of QPDF’s own application files so tools can work offline (Cache Storage, via a service worker);
- fonts downloaded for OCR, so they are not downloaded again (IndexedDB).
This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to QPDF. You can delete it by clearing site data for qpdf.ca in your browser.
Hosting and technical information
qpdf.ca is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. on its Cloudflare Pages service. When your browser requests the website’s pages and files, Cloudflare necessarily receives standard technical information such as your IP address, the URLs requested, the time of the request and your browser’s user agent, and may process it to deliver and secure the service, in accordance with Cloudflare’s privacy policy. These requests do not contain your documents. QPDF does not add analytics, advertising or tracking scripts to the website.
Cookies
QPDF does not set cookies. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary cookies for security purposes, such as protecting the website from abuse.
Links to other websites
QPDF links to other websites, such as open-source projects and wealththeory.ca. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Children
QPDF does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If QPDF’s practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date above revised. Material changes — for example, any change that would involve handling your documents on a server — would be clearly announced on the site before they take effect.
